  • 2 slices sprouted grain bread
  • Earth Balance
  • organic all-fruit raspberry jam
Snack
  • Venti soy latte
  • small sample of a frappaccino
Dinner
  • lentils
  • chocolate almond butter
Still  stressed and not eating much.

For the past week I have been concentrating on eating natural, non-processed foods. I already feel much healthier- I'm less sluggish, and feel much lighter. The hardest thing for me to cut out was diet soda, since I drank so much. /: I've managed by carrying a bottle of water with me where ever I go, so I'm never thirsty. Also, I drink Izze sodas as treats - these are flavored with fruit juice and have no artificial sweeteners.

Here's a breakdown of what I ate/did today:

Morning Workout

  • 30 minutes jog/walk

Breakfast

  • 1 apple

Lunch

  • 1 glass plain, non-fat kefir -- I LOVE this stuff, I also like to stick plain, non-fat yogurt in a blender with some ice and make my own yogurt drink; it is bitter (which I like) but that can be fixed with a packet of stevia
  • 2 slices sprouted grain bread
  • organic raspberry jam
  • chocolate almond butter

Snack 1

  • cucumber

    Snack

    • hummus
    • baby carrots

    Dinner

    • meatless chicken

    This is pretty much what my diet looks like, except that I usually eat more. I felt nervous today, so I wasn't as hungry as I usually am.

    Going Lean and Green

    This blog will document my workouts and meals as I work to become lean while maintaining my commitment to a green lifestyle.

    I used to be fit; I was never a super-athlete, but I worked out several times a week and was happy with my general health and body. Over the past few years I have put my health on a back-burner, but now I am ready to be fit once more!
